Joseph Ollier and Tobias Hösli had their joint research on agentic AI in insurance presented on the international stage this week, at the 30th APRIA Annual Conference in Beijing.
The work, presented by University of St.Gallen collaborator Felix Feig, tackles the question: what happens when consumers let an AI agent make their financial decisions for them? Specifically, the research looks at how people delegate insurance-purchasing decisions to AI agents, and what that delegation does to the quality of the choices they end up with.
The takeaway so far: delegating a decision to an AI agent is easy. Delegating it well is a much harder problem.
Congratulations to Joe and Tobi on getting this work in front of such an engaged international audience.
