On 4 November 2024, our lab was represented at the expert roundtable on Digital Human Rights Tracking Tools and Databases, hosted by the Geneva Human Rights Platform (+ in collaboration with the OHCHR and HURIDOCS). With a focus on “Opportunities for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Human Rights Monitoring,” this event gathered over thirty experts, including developers, AI specialists, policymakers, and human rights practitioners.
Michaela Benk, a doctoral student at the lab, participated in the discussions, contributing insights from her ongoing research on the roles of transparency and trust in AI-assisted decision support. This event underscores the lab’s commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technology for societal impact. We are happy to be part of this critical dialogue.
